Microfactory Labs as the missing link to commercialize innovations

In this exciting panel discussion, experts will shed light on the future of the fashion and textile sector in Europe, with a particular focus on digital innovations, sustainable manufacturing, and the reshoring of manufacturing in the form of microfactory labs.

Fredrik Timor (Fashion Innovation Centre), Troy Nachtigall (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) and Mouhannad Al-Sayegh (Flair Fashion) share their insights on integrating technology into the fashion industry to reduce waste, enable circularity and boost production efficiency. They will also highlight upcoming European funding programmes that support innovative approaches to digital manufacturing, and emphasise the importance of collaboration and coordination within the industry.


About Fredrik Timour:

Fredrik Timour, Founder at Fashion Innovation Center, has a broad perspective on digital fashion and worked directly with Fusalp, POC, IKEA, BACK, Snickers Workwear, SAS, IBM. He works for the Swedish Fashion Council setting up a new innovation center for fashion and is part of the national platform for sustainable fashion.

About Mouhannad Al-Sayegh:

Mouhannad Al-Sayegh is the founder at flair and creative technologist at@unioftheartslondonfor over 15 years.in 2014, he founded Hallonco, a visual & a community platform for fashion designed to connect fashion experts and stylists with fashion enthusiasts seeking advice. in 2016, he became chief technology officer at MIXIMALISTE, the first international independent fashion designer e-tailer that merges fashion and technology through a pre-order business model. from 2013 to 2020, al-sayegh also served as chief technology officer at Change Of Paradigm Limited, which explores new frontiers in digital fashion through its 3d fashion e-commerce platform and digital haute couture project

About Troy Nachtigall:

Troy Nachtigall is a designer and Professor of Fashion Research & Technology at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, researching sustainable computational craftsmanship through design. His work focuses on data-driven personalization of clothing and accessories, exploring how designers use data across design, production, and use. Bridging industry and academia, he has worked with brands such as Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, and Jean Paul Gaultier, and collaborated with Apple, Microsoft, Fendi, and Beyoncé. His research is informed by extensive teaching experience and international fellowships in Europe.
